Browser Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
This policy explains what the ResumeCommand browser extension accesses, why, and what happens to that data. It covers the extension specifically; the ResumeCommand web service is covered by our main Privacy Policy.
What the extension accesses
The job posting on your current tab. When | and only when | you click Extract this job, the extension reads the text of the page you are viewing (or the text you have selected) and sends it to the ResumeCommand API so it can extract the role details and tailor your resume. The extension does not read any page unless you click that button, and it has no access to your other tabs or your browsing history.
Your ResumeCommand sign-in session. When you sign in, the extension stores your ResumeCommand session tokens and the email address on your account locally in your browser. These keep you signed in between sessions. Sign-in happens on the ResumeCommand website in your browser | the extension never receives or stores your password.
In-progress task state. While an extraction or tailoring is running, the extension temporarily stores the job summary and task status locally so the popup can show progress and results.
How your data is used
The job text is used solely to perform the extraction and tailoring you request. It is processed by the ResumeCommand service the same way as text you paste into the website. Your session tokens and email are used solely to authenticate your requests and show that you are signed in.
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use it for advertising, tracking, profiling, or creditworthiness. We do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the ResumeCommand service.
Where your data goes
Stored locally on your device: session tokens, account email, and in-progress task state. Cleared when you sign out or remove the extension.
Sent to the ResumeCommand API over HTTPS: the job posting text and your authenticated requests. Resulting jobs and tailored resumes are stored in your ResumeCommand account, under your control.
Retention and your controls
Local data is removed when you sign out or uninstall the extension.
Jobs and tailored resumes created through the extension live in your ResumeCommand account and can be deleted from there at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data from account settings.
Third parties
The extension communicates only with ResumeCommand's own servers. It does not integrate any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Changes
We may update this policy as the extension evolves; the date above reflects the current version.
